Harewood house was built in the 18th century from money made from the West Indian sugar trade you can delve deeper into its history at the exhibition there. The house was built for the queen's cousin earl of harewood. The house has a lot to offer with its art collections, splendid state rooms and the beautiful Himalayan gardens with its own waterfall. You can marvel at the Adam ceilings, Chippendale furniture or the bird garden.

Leeds is now known as financial and commercial capital of Yorkshire. Its roots still lie with manufacturing, textiles and furniture industry this is where the famous Thomas Chippendale began is furniture business.
